Hacin’s work at the Sea Crest Beach Resort on Cape Cod consists of a multi-phase repositioning of the ‘Streetscape’, redesigning existing amenity spaces to strengthen the identity of the property in order to increase value for hotel stakeholders and visitors alike through unique programming opportunities. The interdisciplinary team worked with the resort to reinterpret a traditional beach aesthetic, utilizing historic color palettes and evocative design details to echo the quintessential Main Streets of nearby coastal towns. Holistically incorporating our architecture, interior design, and visual identity disciplines, the spaces follow a cohesive aesthetic while highlighting individual ‘tenants’ through materials, furniture, and graphics. The final effect welcomes longtime guests back to a renewed, but still familiar, Cape Cod escape known for its spectacular sunsets and family-friendly atmosphere, while attracting new demographics through the improved amenities and a diverse food and beverage program.

Old Silver Provisions

A new general store concept replaced a former gift shop at Sea Crest. The team designed a new storefront and exterior entry door for access from outside, custom millwork and storage for retail display, and an updated custom interior entry. A newly developed name, brand identity, and signage completed the refresh.

Buzzards Bay Pizza Shop

A former spa room and storage closet were reprogrammed and redesigned to create a pizza shop. With a full interior renovation, creation of a storefront, and new name, brand identity, and signage, the Buzzards Bay Pizza Shop generates an additional revenue stream by monetizing the space to join other guest amenities, complements the quintessential Cape Cod 'main street' feel, and offers a popular food option for beach and pool-goers.

The Hatch

Hacin redeveloped a pre-existing poolside takeout counter by taking inspiration from a roadside beach foodstand aesthetic. As a prominent corner along the guest amenities route from the lobby to the boardwalk, the updates included of a contemporary canopy, vibrant red graphic striping treatment, and new name, brand identity, as well as illuminated and hand-painted signage. The vibrant red also appears in the neighboring lamp post, which helps to organize traffic flow and direct guests to separate amenities.

The Lantern Room

This restaurant and tavern renovated and renamed to evoke a moodier seaside concept, material, and color palette. With a directive to work within budget and reuse as much of the existing restaurant materials as possible, the design team refreshed the space using bolder paint, pattern, custom furniture and millwork, and playful, eclectic artwork sourced from local antique markets on Cape Cod. With a new name, brand identities for the Lantern Room and the Tavern, signage, and a suite of menus, the restaurant is repositioned from a former sports and nautical themed restaurant and bar into a new year-round foodie destination for guests and the public alike.
