Providence Innovation Center
The proposed Providence Innovation Center was designed to be the centerpiece of the planned Wexford Science + Technology “Knowledge Community” in Providence, RI. The development comprises new office buildings, laboratory buildings, a new hotel, and a centrally-located Providence Innovation Center in a landscaped courtyard. Modeled after District Hall in Boston, the P.I.C was intended to act as civic space where the local innovation community could gather, collaborate and exchange ideas. The building features a public meeting hall, a folded roof, a street-facing restaurant, connections to the public outdoor plaza, and an overall emphasis on flexibility and sustainability. The project was developed in collaboration with CV Properties and the Cambridge Innovation Center, and coordinated with the rest of the design team, including Ayer Saint Gross [Architect for Master Plan and landscape].
