Bent Street | Kendall Square Lobby
The renovation of the 320 Bent Street lobby was completed by Hacin’s commercial architecture and interiors team, working with longtime client BioMed Realty to refresh the existing entry space for a fully occupied office building located in Kendall Square. Inspired by the surrounding neighborhood’s reputation for innovation and knowledge, the design took cues from a library concept, resulting in bookshelf-inspired wood paneling, a bench seating niche carved into the millwork, and comfortable furniture for building tenants and visitors alike. Outside of a full aesthetic refresh and new seating, design objectives included the removal of a café counter, the reorientation of a security desk, and the creation of various public zones to establish a welcoming, hospitable environment upon entering the building.
