Rob Clocker, AIA, LEED AP
Vice President | Principal
Rob is Vice President and Managing Principal of Hacin since 2023, having joined the firm in 2014, and he brings over 30 years of experience in award-winning renovation and new construction projects of all types and sizes. He is currently overseeing the ongoing mixed-use development at 41 Berkeley Street. He previously completed The Whitney Hotel in Beacon Hill, the IIDA New England award-winning IDEO Cambridge, and private residential projects such as Public Garden Townhouse, and Chestnut Townhouse 2. Previously as a Senior Associate at Perkins+Will in San Francisco, Rob led the revitalization of the former Pacific Bell Art Deco office tower and the transformation of a historic hospital to apartments in the Presidio of San Francisco.
A collaborator at heart, Rob earned the Alpha Rho Chi medal in architecture twice – once while earning his undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia and again with his Master of Architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Rob has extensive experience with sustainable design, leading numerous LEED certified projects and playing a key role in Living Building Challenge and Passive House projects. In both writing and speaking, Rob is a design advocate for housing and neighborhoods. He also welcomes opportunities for community engagement and is a member of the Ipswich Zoning Board of Appeals.
Originally from Ohio, Rob has moved cross country four times, oscillating between Massachusetts and California. What Rob most appreciates about having had the opportunity to attend MIT is it is there that he met his wife, Anne-Catrin. When not engaged with work, they like to visit their son and daughter in Montreal and Delft and work on their vacation retreat in Maine.
