Izzy Carey
Designer | Architecture
Izzy is an architectural designer at Hacin who joined the team in 2021. She graduated Cum Laude from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture and a minor in Interior Design. Izzy has gained experience in residential design with firms along the East Coast, including her father’s. From a young age, she remembers playing in between stud-framed walls, Sunday site visits, and drawing on scrapped plan iterations alongside him, a residential architect, in her hometown of Westerly, Rhode Island. Other experiences such as studying abroad in Hong Kong for 2.5 months in the Spring of 2017, visiting family abroad in the UK & Norway, and traveling across the US and overseas on her own have all significantly shaped her approach to design and enhanced her appreciation for authentic cultural heritage.
As an architectural designer at Hacin, Izzy’s goal to connect, reinterpret, and enhance surrounding environments and communities through elevated, yet responsible, design encourages her to take on each design idea from a customized perspective. Outside of the studio, Izzy can be found enjoying good weather outdoors, getting her hands dirty in home/furniture renovation projects, or mapping out her next travel itinerary.
