Meet Kathryn Boudreau, Our New Interiors Intern!
We’re so pleased to introduce Hacin’s newest intern to join our interior design team, Kathryn Boudreau. Kathryn is currently a student at the New England School of Art and Design, and will receive her MAIA in January 2015 upon completing her internship with us. For Kathryn, working in design is actually an exciting second career, as she has already enjoyed a decades-long career as a licensed physical therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She worked with patients and their families across a wide spectrum of ages, disabilities, clinical environments and within various supervisory roles. Her prior work experiences taught her about the importance of tending to both the quality and functionality of a patient’s interior environment in addition to their clinical program. This understanding, along with a desire to pursue an artistic path, led her to embark on a career change and to the study of design at NESAD. Recently, her senior thesis project, “The Boston Film Alliance,” created a community of practice for filmmakers in Boston’s SoWA district and won NESAD’s Thesis Design Excellence Award at the Fall 2014 senior thesis show. She is currently volunteering at NESAD, helping the next wave of graduate students with their thesis research process. Kathryn is delighted to “stay” in the South End for her internship. Outside of her work at Hacin, it’s obvious that Kathryn isn’t slowing down any time soon. When she’s not with us here in the studio, she can be found in her garden, at her local yoga studio, or on her bike, discovering the back roads of Middlesex County and beyond with her family.
