Returning to a previous project with a new client always brings an exciting opportunity to revisit existing concepts and find revitalized meaning in a space. For this penthouse unit located in the South End's Laconia Lofts, the Hacin team had the chance to rework an existing design to fit the tastes and preferences of new homeowners. While both the first and second iterations of the home share affinities for vibrant contemporary art, Laconia Loft East 2 introduces organic furniture shapes and an increasingly grounded sense of materiality to the space. With ample daylight and beautiful Boston skyline views, the residence was reimagined with a natural and crafted aesthetic, while maintaining the efficient layout and clearly defined volumes that originated in the first concept. An updated landscape design and re-envisioned outdoor terrace complete the transformation.
